U.S. Congresswoman Lois Frankel, a representative from Florida's 22nd District since 2013, recently voiced her positions on international and domestic issues through a series of tweets. Frankel, who succeeded Allen West, previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1986 to 2002. Born in New York City in 1948, she resides in West Palm Beach and is an alumna of Boston University and Georgetown University.
On April 9, 2025, Frankel emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine amidst ongoing conflicts, stating that “When we abandon our allies, we risk our own security. Delaying security & humanitarian support to Ukraine is a gift to Putin." She credited America for Ukraine for visiting her office to share their experiences and highlight the need for continued U.S. assistance.
The next day, April 10, she criticized Republican actions regarding the PACT Act and their impact on military personnel. She tweeted, “Republicans have broken the promise of the PACT Act, fired thousands of servicemembers, and made cuts that threaten Veterans’ benefits and care." Frankel accused the GOP of executing cuts aligned with Trump’s policies that harm veterans.
Later on the same day, she addressed fiscal matters, expressing concern over the Republican budgetary decisions. Frankel stated, “Instead of lowering your costs, the Republican budget paves the way for the biggest cuts to Medicaid and food assistance in our nation’s history—all to fund tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations." Frankel firmly stood against these measures, voting no on the budget proposal.
Frankel's active engagement on these topics reflects her longstanding political career and commitment to representing her constituents' interests in Congress.
