Lois Frankel, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida's 22nd District since 2013, recently expressed her views on several significant issues through social media posts. Frankel, who succeeded Allen West in Congress and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives, shared her thoughts on vaccines, gun violence, and foreign assistance.
On February 13, 2025, Rep. Lois Frankel emphasized the importance of vaccinations for children and urged Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to adhere to scientific guidance. She stated: "Vaccines keep our children alive and well. Mr. Kennedy should follow science."
In a post dated February 14, 2025, Frankel commemorated the anniversary of the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Reflecting on the loss of life and ongoing efforts to prevent gun violence, she wrote: "Seven years ago today, 17 sons, daughters, and loved ones were killed in a horrific, senseless act of gun violence at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High... On this somber anniversary, we remember each of them, stand with their families, and renew our fight to protect our communities..."
Later that day on February 14th, Rep. Frankel addressed the temporary lifting of a funding freeze by USAID imposed during Donald Trump's administration. She commented on the significance of foreign aid in maintaining national security: "While the order to lift Trump’s USAID funding freeze is a temporary win, our fight is far from over. Foreign assistance isn’t a handout—it’s a critical tool that helps prevent conflict, strengthen our alliances, and drive economic stability—all of which keep America safe."
