Income eligible City of Boynton Beach homeowners may apply online to receive up to $25,000 for home repairs (as a grant or as a zero interest, deferred, forgivable loan) through the City's Homestead Owner-Occupied Limited Rehabilitation Program. Approximately $400,000 is available for distribution, provided through the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program administered by the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development.  The City has partnered with the Boynton Beach Faith-Based Community Development Corporation, Inc. (Faith-Based CDC) to offer this program.

In addition, funds are available for home repairs exceeding $25,000 and for home purchase assistance through the City of Boynton Beach's Community Improvement Division. Approximately $1.1 million dollars is available for distribution; funds are provided through the City’s State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program.   Applications are available online and at City Hall's Information Desk.

Funding for both programs is allocated on a first-qualified, first-served basis. Eligibility requirements include residency within City limits.

A Housing Rehabilitation Program & Purchase Assistance Program Community Workshop will be held at City Hall – Community Room # 115 (100 E. Ocean Ave.) on Tuesday, Jan. 24 beginning at 6 pm to explain both programs and answer questions. Topics include the application process, income eligibility, eligible repairs and more. Spanish and Haitian Creole speakers will be in attendance. Parking is available on the corner of Boynton Beach Blvd. and Seacrest Blvd. For ADA accommodations, call 561-742-6241 or email ada@bbfl.us.

“The goal of the workshop is to explain both programs so residents understand what funds are available to them and how to apply,” according to RJ Ramirez, The City’s Community Improvement Division Manager.

Contact Mr. Ramirez (561-742-6359 or ramirezr@bbfl.us) for additional program information.
