County Of Palm Beach issued the following announcement on Jan. 01.
The Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department (PBCWUD) has completed the repair of a water main break South of James Wheeler Way in Belle Glade. As a precautionary measure, residents in the affected area are advised to boil their water before use. This boil water notice affects customers in the Belle Glade area bounded by Runyon Village to the north, West Canal Street South, Duda Road to the east, and Torry Island Road to the west. Instructions for boiling water can be found on the PBCWUD website at pbcwater.com.
This break was reported at 9:00 A.M. December 31, 2022. Crews were immediately deployed, repaired the break and had service restored within two hours. PBCWUD is currently conducting thorough water quality testing to ensure water safety.
As soon as the testing has indicated it is safe to do so, customers will be notified when the boil water notice is lifted. PBCWUD recommends that all customers sign up for advanced notifications through AlertPBC to receive updates in the event of a boil water notice or other emergency situation.
PBCWUD would like to express our sincere gratitude to our valued customers for their patience and cooperation.
