The 100th anniversary of Fire Prevention Week kicks off this Sunday, October 9, and the Fire & Life Safety Division of the Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Department will be celebrating by hosting a Fire Extinguisher Giveaway event on Tuesday, October 11 beginning at 11:00 am at Fire Station #5 (2080 High Ridge Rd.).
The community is invited to visit Fire Station #5 to receive a free fire extinguisher and lunch from Christ Fellowship (Boynton Beach). Attendees will have an opportunity to meet and greet Sparky the Fire Dog, interact with a Fire Engine and learn important information on how to properly use a fire extinguisher. Fire Extinguishers are available to Boynton Beach residents only on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
“This year marks the 100th Anniversary of Fire Prevention week and we are excited to have this opportunity to educate the community on the importance of fire safety,” stated Boynton Beach Fire Marshal Kathy Cline. “Fire extinguishers are a first aid respondent, and can help save a life or prevent catastrophic damage.”
Boynton Beach Fire Rescue thanks Wiginton Fire Systems & Lowes Home Improvement for their donations.
