On Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 2 p.m., the Palm Beach County Community Rating System (CRS) User Group will hold a general meeting of its public and private sector membership. This meeting is open to the public.

Currently, 29 of the 39 Palm Beach County municipalities participate in the CRS, which is a voluntary program that recognizes and encourages community floodplain management practices to lower flood insurance premiums by “going above and beyond” the minimum requirements for the National Flood Insurance Program  eligibility.

The Palm Beach County Public Safety Department’s Division of Emergency Management designates the CRS User Group to provide practical guidance on preparing for, mitigating against and recovering from flood events. These floodplain management activities provide enhanced public safety, reduced damage to property and public infrastructure and avoidance of economic disruption and loss.

Topics to be discussed include the Herbert Hoover Dike and the Watershed Planning Initiative.

This meeting will be located at Palm Beach County Emergency Operations Center, EOC Operations Room, 20 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach, 33415.
