Rep. Lois Frankel, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida's 22nd district, has taken to social media to express her views on reproductive rights and the impact of the overturning of Roe v. Wade. In a series of tweets posted on January 22, 2025, Frankel discusses the implications of this decision and its effects on women's access to abortion services.

In her first tweet, Frankel reflects on the historical significance of Roe v. Wade, stating: "For nearly 50 years, Roe v. Wade ensured a woman’s right to reproductive freedom." She emphasizes that despite its overturning over two and a half years ago, House Democrats are committed to restoring this fundamental right for women across America.

Continuing her discourse later that day, Frankel highlights the legislative actions taken by various states since the ruling was overturned: "Since #Roe was overturned, 22 states have rushed to ban or restrict abortion, including Florida’s draconian six-week ban." She reiterates her stance that women should have autonomy over their reproductive choices without political interference.

Further elaborating on the consequences faced by women in her own district following these changes in law, Frankel notes: "After #Roe was overturned, a woman in Palm Beach County now must travel hundreds of miles to access the abortion care they need beyond six weeks of pregnancy." She points out the financial and logistical challenges posed by such restrictions.
