The Florida Atlantic University Athletics Department has received a gift commitment of $7.5 million from long-time supporter Eleanor R. Baldwin. Following approval by the Board of Trustees, Florida Atlantic University will rename its basketball and volleyball facility the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena in recognition of the gift.
The latest gift brings Baldwin's philanthropic support for FAU to more than $10 million. Her teaching career spanned 34 years, with most of her time spent in Broward County schools. Baldwin continues to serve FAU as a member of the College of Education Advisory Board and as director emerita of the FAU Foundation Board.
