The team at New Mexico Surgery Center Multi-Specialty launched a new robotic assisted surgery line and recently completed their first case utilizing the da Vinci surgical system.
The da Vinci surgical system is a minimally invasive technology which translates a surgeon’s hand movements at the console in real time, bending and rotating the instruments while performing the procedure. The innovative system also delivers highly magnified, 3D high-definition views of the surgical area, making it possible for surgeons to operate through one or a few small incisions.
“We are excited to utilize this state-of-the-art system at our facility,” said Rebekah Kaehele, New Mexico Surgery Center Multi-Specialty administrator. “The new technology has allowed us to expand our service offerings and deliver the benefits of robotic-assisted surgery to more patients in the Albuquerque community than ever before.”
