Lynn University issued the following announcement on Jan. 24
More than 10 years after it first began, the Citizenship Project made its greatest impact, yet. This year, 34 classes participated in 110 service experiences with 22 local organizations over the three-week January Term (J-Term).
Each class focused on one of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, such as zero hunger, quality education, and sustainable cities and communities. Students presented the final projects at the annual Citizenship Celebration, which included a presentation by Japanese-American poet Phil Kaye and two awards.
Citizenship Project Director Anna Krift recognized Kendrick Scott’s class for “outstanding coursework and civic engagement,” as well as Gary Carlin and Stefanie Powers’ class for “best visual representation.”
