Rep. Lois Frankel, who represents Florida’s 22nd district in the U.S. Congress, has used her social media platform to voice concerns about Republican health care proposals and ongoing government funding negotiations.
On October 3, 2025, Frankel posted: “.@HouseDemocrats want to reopen the government and address the looming Republican health care crisis.
If Republicans’ bill became law, millions of Floridians’ premiums would skyrocket–I’m not going to rubber stamp that.
Cancel the cuts, lower costs, save health care.”
The following day, she reiterated her stance on bipartisan cooperation while opposing Republican health care plans. On October 4, 2025, she wrote: “Democrats are ready to find a bipartisan agreement to reopen the government.
But we will not support Republicans’ plan that skyrockets health care costs.
Cancel the cuts, lower the costs, save health care.”
Continuing her criticism of Republican policies regarding health care assistance under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Frankel stated on October 6, 2025: “Health care for millions is at risk because Republicans won’t protect the ACA assistance that families across the country rely on.
Americans shouldn’t pay the price for Washington gridlock. Republicans should come to the table to reopen the government and protect health care.”
Frankel has served in Congress since 2013 after replacing Allen West and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives from 1986 to 2002. She was born in New York City in 1948 and currently resides in West Palm Beach. Frankel holds a BA from Boston University and a JD from Georgetown University.
