Rep. Lois Frankel, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 22nd district since 2013, recently addressed issues related to contraception access, government spending, and foreign policy in a series of posts on her social media account.
On April 6, 2026, Frankel wrote: “Contraception is essential health care. This is yet another attempt to limit women’s access to safe and effective birth control, undermining women’s freedom to decide whether or when to start or grow a family.”
Later that day, she criticized certain government expenditures, stating: “This is absurd—a blatant waste of taxpayer dollars while Americans’ budgets are already squeezed. Imagine putting that money toward affordable health care, child care, housing, or medical research instead of this nonsense.”
On April 7, 2026, Frankel commented on the potential consequences of military action against Iran: “Using force to erase a civilization would endanger us, our allies, and millions of innocent people in Iran.”
Frankel has represented Florida’s 22nd District in Congress since replacing Allen West in 2013. Prior to her congressional service, she was a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 1986 to 2002. Born in New York City in 1948 and currently residing in West Palm Beach at age 74, Frankel holds degrees from Boston University (BA) and Georgetown University (JD).
