Lois Frankel, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 22nd district, has shared her views on various pressing issues through a series of tweets. Frankel, who succeeded Allen West in 2013 and has served since then, expressed concerns about the impact of recent policy decisions and legislative proposals.

On May 12, 2025, Frankel highlighted her apprehensions regarding the Taliban’s escalating restrictions on women and girls. She criticized the decision to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Afghan nationals fleeing violence and instability. According to Frankel, this move “puts lives at risk and completely ignores the reality on the ground.” “Women and girls will bear the brunt of this decision…”

The following day, May 13, 2025, she took a moment to acknowledge law enforcement officers during National Police Week. In her tweet, she praised their daily commitment to community service: “Every day, police officers across our communities serve with courage…” She extended gratitude for their unwavering dedication.

Later that same day, Frankel critiqued a legislative proposal put forth by Republicans which was associated with former President Trump. She described it as detrimental due to its potential consequences such as removing healthcare access for millions of Americans and increasing national debt while providing significant tax cuts for wealthy donors: “Republicans unveiled Trump’s ‘big, beautiful bill.’ It’s a disaster…”

Born in New York City in 1948 and currently residing in West Palm Beach, Lois Frankel holds degrees from Boston University and Georgetown University. Her career includes serving in both state-level positions within Florida’s House of Representatives from 1986 to 2002 before moving onto federal representation.
