Rep. Lois Frankel, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Florida’s 22nd district since 2013, recently used her social media platform to highlight global humanitarian and political issues.
On February 5, 2026, Frankel drew attention to the consequences of reduced international aid by sharing a warning from a new study: “A new study warns global aid cuts could lead to 9 million preventable deaths. Foreign assistance isn’t charity—it’s national security. It saves lives, builds partners, prevents extremism, and strengthens U.S. leadership. When the U.S. and others walk away–the world is less https://t.co/Rbn1cQEmHY”.
The following day, on February 6, she addressed the risks faced by young women worldwide: “4.5 million girls worldwide are at risk of Female Genital Mutilation. When we invest in and commit to ending this harmful practice, we enable girls to reach their fullest potential, empower one another, and thrive in their communities. #EndFGM https://t.co/Nkq7Q2SGEh”.
On February 7, Frankel criticized recent actions attributed to former President Donald Trump: “In the past week, Donald Trump led… The arrested of journalist for doing his job, An FBI raid of an election office, The posting of a blatantly racist video which he refused to apologize for. We’re so much better than this.”
Frankel has served in Congress since defeating Allen West in 2013 and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives from 1986 to 2002. She was born in New York City in 1948 and currently resides in West Palm Beach at age 74. Frankel holds degrees from Boston University (BA) and Georgetown University (JD).
