Rep. Lois Frankel, who represents Florida’s 22nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media regarding recent legislative actions and foreign policy concerns.
On January 8, 2026, Frankel announced the House’s decision to extend Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits, stating, “After months of pushing from @HouseDemocrats, the House voted to extend the ACA tax credits! It’s a step forward, but our fight to stop a health care crisis is far from over.”
Later that day, she highlighted the impact of ACA assistance on her constituents: “ACA assistance keeps a self-employed mom in Lake Worth and a waiter in West Palm insured. Without it, premiums double or triple. I voted to extend these tax credits. Now, Senate Republicans and Trump must act. My full statement on today’s vote: https://t.co/rgVHDIpMlb”
On January 9, 2026, Frankel addressed concerns about U.S. participation in international organizations following an executive review by former President Trump: “Why leave organizations that counter terrorism, empower women, increase access to education, and prevent sexual violence? Trump’s ‘review’ of international orgs shut out Congress entirely and leaves us less safe and more isolated around the world.”
Frankel has served as the representative for Florida’s 22nd District since 2013 after replacing Allen West. She previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives from 1986 to 2002. Born in New York City in 1948 and currently residing in West Palm Beach at age 74, Frankel holds degrees from Boston University and Georgetown University.
