U.S. Representative Lois Frankel, who represents Florida’s 22nd district and has served in Congress since 2013, used her social media platform on March 26 and 27, 2026, to address issues related to the ongoing government shutdown and a recent loss of contraceptive supplies. Frankel is a longtime public servant with previous experience in the Florida House of Representatives from 1986 to 2002.
On March 26, Frankel posted: “Another day, another opportunity for Republicans to bring @HouseDemocrats bill to the floor to pay TSA workers and end this shutdown. Will they join us?” She continued her criticism later that day by stating: “Our TSA workers are still not getting paid. Democrats have tried to fund DHS and pay TSA agents, but Republicans have blocked us at every turn unless we send billions more to ICE.”
The following day, Frankel turned her attention to an international health issue involving U.S.-funded contraceptives. On March 27 she wrote: “$8 million worth of contraceptives that the U.S. had already paid for sat in a warehouse for months and expired. They are now unusable. The Trump Admin chose to risk the lives of thousands of women around the world instead of finding partners willing to distribute these”.
Frankel was born in New York City in 1948 and currently resides in West Palm Beach at age 74. She earned her undergraduate degree from Boston University in 1970 and obtained a law degree from Georgetown University in 1973.
