Rep. Lois Frankel, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 22nd district, shared a series of updates on her official Twitter account addressing significant political and community events.
On July 7, 2025, Rep. Frankel expressed her sentiments regarding the closure of USAID by the Trump Administration after six decades of service. She acknowledged the contributions of USAID workers by stating “Last week, the Trump Admin officially shuttered USAID after 60 years of promoting democracy, preventing conflict, and delivering lifesaving aid. I send my thanks to every dedicated USAID worker who delivered stability, strengthened our alliances, and saved countless lives around”.
Later that day, she announced an upcoming virtual town hall scheduled for July 8 at 6 PM with fellow representatives Kathy Castor and Jasmine Crockett. In her tweet she invited constituents to join the event through social media platforms: “Tomorrow at 6PM! Join me, @USRepKCastor & @RepJasmine for a virtual town hall: Watch live on my Facebook & YouTube pages Register for a reminder email and submit a question in advance: https://t.co/f3tNC84IpD https://t.co/aGISHRyNIz”.
On July 8, Frankel highlighted a legal development concerning Planned Parenthood. She described it as a temporary victory against legislation that threatened funding for Planned Parenthood’s services. She emphasized the importance of their healthcare provisions by tweeting “A temporary win in court, blocking provisions in the big, ugly bill that aim to defund Planned Parenthood, which provides critical screenings, medications, testing, and more. Let’s be clear: Planned Parenthood provides lifesaving care. Blocking access puts lives at risk.”
Lois Frankel has been serving in Congress since replacing Allen West in 2013. Prior to this role, she served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1986 to 2002. Born in New York City in 1948 and currently residing in West Palm Beach, she holds degrees from Boston University and Georgetown University.
