Rep. Lois Frankel, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 22nd district, has made recent statements on social media addressing significant issues of human rights and education. Frankel, who succeeded Allen West in 2013 and has a longstanding career in politics since her time in the Florida House of Representatives from 1986 to 2002, used her platform to highlight reports of atrocities and advocate for continued partnerships aimed at combating bigotry.
On July 10, 2025, Rep. Lois Frankel shared a tweet citing “Forced nudity, physical and verbal sexual harassment, sexual assaults, and threats of forced marriage.” She referred to The Dinah Project’s new report detailing horrors allegedly committed by Hamas terrorists since October 7, including actions against those held captive.
Later that day, Frankel announced her intention to send a letter to NEA leaders urging them not to cut ties with @ADL. This call reflects her support for maintaining alliances with organizations dedicated to fighting hate.
In another tweet posted simultaneously on July 10th, she emphasized the importance of ADL’s initiatives by stating that “ADL’s work is more important than ever as we teach future generations to stand up to bigotry and build a more inclusive society.” She highlighted ADL’s “No Place for Hate” program and other educational efforts aimed at teaching about bias, inclusion, and equity within schools.
Lois Frankel was born in New York City in 1948 and now resides in West Palm Beach. A Boston University alumna with a BA degree earned in 1970 and a JD from Georgetown University obtained in 1973.
