Rep. Lois Frankel, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing Florida’s 22nd district since 2013, has been active on social media addressing various pressing issues. Her recent tweets have highlighted concerns about veteran services, public health, and local scams.
On July 9, 2025, Rep. Frankel expressed concern over proposed job cuts at the Department of Veterans Affairs under former President Donald Trump’s administration. She stated: “Our Veterans risked their lives for us, shouldn’t we care for them when they come home? Yet Trump wants to slash 30,000 VA jobs—gutting essential services, killing job opportunities, and abandoning millions of brave servicemembers who deserve our support. Unacceptable.”
Later that day, Frankel addressed a significant rise in measles cases across the country. She tweeted: “Measles cases have hit a 33-year high and it’s only July. Vaccines save lives—period. Instead of promoting misinformation & pseudoscience, @seckennedy should work to ensure all Americans can get vaccinated to keep themselves and their loved ones healthy.” This statement emphasizes her advocacy for vaccination amidst growing health concerns.
On July 10, 2025, Rep. Frankel issued a warning about a scam targeting residents of Palm Beach County (PBC). In her tweet she advised: ” Scam Alert Scammers are posing as court clerks or law enforcement and targeting PBC residents, claiming they’ve missed jury duty.” Don’t share personal info over phone or text. If you’ve been contacted, report it to local law enforcement.”
In addition to her congressional duties since replacing Allen West in 2013, Lois Frankel has served in various political capacities including as a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 1986 to 2002. Born in New York City in 1948 and now residing in West Palm Beach at age 74, she holds degrees from Boston University and Georgetown University.
