Rep. Lois Frankel, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 22nd district since 2013, addressed several public health and social issues in a series of posts on March 17 and 18, 2026.
On March 17, Frankel commented on recent developments regarding childhood vaccine policy, stating: “RFK Jr. tried to skirt expert review, ignore science-backed research, and overhaul the childhood vaccine schedule. I’m grateful for this ruling, but we must keep fighting to protect the integrity of vaccines to keep Americans safe from preventable diseases.”
Later that day, she condemned all forms of violence and antisemitism: “There is no excuse for violence of any kind, including antisemitism. The Jewish people – individually or as a whole – should never be blamed for the actions of any government or military, including Israel’s.”
On March 18, Frankel turned her attention to international health concerns with a focus on Zambia: “More than one million people in Zambia rely on HIV treatments. Lifesaving resources shouldn’t be used as a bargaining chip.”
Frankel has represented Florida’s 22nd district in Congress since succeeding Allen West in 2013 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1986 to 2002. Born in New York City in 1948 and currently residing in West Palm Beach at age 74, Frankel holds degrees from Boston University (BA) and Georgetown University (JD).
