U.S. Representative Lois Frankel, who has represented Florida’s 22nd congressional district since 2013, addressed a range of issues in a series of posts on her official social media account between February 9 and February 11, 2026.
On February 9, Frankel highlighted concerns about the impact of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations on local communities. She stated, “Today, I hosted a press conference with local leaders, hearing more heartbreaking stories of the chaos ICE is bringing to our community. We will not be silent. Americans want commonsense reforms before Congress provides another penny to the Department of Homeland Security.”
The following day, Frankel referenced findings from an American Jewish Committee report regarding antisemitism in the United States. On February 10 she wrote, “A new @AJCGlobal report confirms what Jewish communities already knew: antisemitism is still surging. 7 in 10 American Jews feel less safe & 3 in 10 were personally targeted in the past year. Hate anywhere threatens everyone’s safety—we must stand united against antisemitism.”
On February 11, Frankel announced her participation in a bipartisan effort by Florida lawmakers to secure federal disaster assistance for farmers affected by severe freezes earlier that year. She posted, “Proud to join the Florida delegation on a bipartisan letter urging USDA to provide disaster assistance to farmers impacted by January’s devastating freezes. Strawberries, citrus, & more are at risk–we must equip our farmers with the tools they need to keep our agricultural”.
Frankel has been active in public service for several decades. She previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1986 to 2002 before being elected to Congress in 2013 and replacing Allen West as representative for Florida’s district. Born in New York City in 1948 and currently residing in West Palm Beach at age 74, Frankel holds degrees from Boston University and Georgetown University.
