Rep. Lois Frankel, U.S. Congresswoman representing Florida’s 22nd district since 2013, posted a series of statements on November 5, 2025, addressing both international and local concerns.
In a post from November 5 at 18:58 UTC, Frankel commented on the aftermath of a natural disaster in the Caribbean: “The destruction in Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa is heartbreaking. I’m pushing the Trump Administration to respond swiftly and fully—especially in communities too often overlooked, like Westmoreland and St. Elizabeth.”
Later that day, she criticized then-President Trump’s priorities in a tweet dated November 5 at 20:27 UTC: “While Trump is focused on building a fancy ballroom and sending $40 billion to his buddy in Argentina, folks at home are still struggling to pay their bills. Floridians deserve better. Democrats will keep fighting to make life more affordable.”
Frankel also promoted civic engagement opportunities for young people in her district with an announcement at 21:30 UTC on November 5: “Applications are now open for the Congressional Youth Leadership Council! High school juniors and seniors in our area can learn how Congress works, meet me and other local leaders, and build skills for the future. Apply by Nov. 30:”
Frankel has represented Florida’s 22nd district since replacing Allen West in Congress in 2013. She previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1986 to 2002. Born in New York City in 1948, Frankel resides in West Palm Beach and holds degrees from Boston University (BA) and Georgetown University (JD).
