U.S. Representative Lois Frankel, who represents Florida’s 22nd district in Congress, posted a series of messages on March 19, 2026, addressing topics ranging from the ongoing government shutdown to international refugee support and local student opportunities.
In her first post at 17:38 UTC, Frankel wrote, “TSA agents deserve to be paid. Americans don’t want to spend hours in line at the airport.
I signed onto @rosadelauro measure to force a vote to reopen the Dept of Homeland Security–without new funding for ICE.
We can end this shutdown as soon as Republicans join us.”
Later that day at 18:53 UTC, she highlighted the work of an international organization: “From Nigeria to Ukraine and almost everywhere in between, UNHCR provides shelter and health services while protecting and dignifying millions of refugees and displaced people around the world.
Consistent, flexible funding is vital to ensuring this work continues.”
Frankel also addressed constituents directly at 20:37 UTC with a call for student participation: “Calling all high school artists in Palm Beach County!
The Congressional Art Competition is underway! The winner from our district will have their artwork displayed in the US Capitol.
Visit my website for details and how to apply.”
Frankel has represented Florida’s 22nd district since 2013 after succeeding Allen West. She previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1986 to 2002. Born in New York City in 1948, Frankel currently resides in West Palm Beach. She holds a BA from Boston University (1970) and a JD from Georgetown University (1973).
