Rep. Lois Frankel, U.S. Congresswoman representing Florida’s 22nd district since 2013, has used her social media platform in recent days to address several issues, including economic challenges facing families, media access in Iran, and voting rights.
On March 30, 2026, Frankel questioned the priorities of political leaders amid ongoing economic pressures on American families. She wrote: “At a time when families are struggling with the cost of groceries, housing, and health care, this is what they’re focused on? The presidency should be about lowering costs for everyday Americans—not naming opportunities.”
The following day, March 31, Frankel criticized actions taken during the Trump Administration regarding international broadcasting. She stated: “The Trump Administration claims to support the Iranian people, but Kari Lake instructed the U.S. Agency for Global Media to cut off essential transmitters for Radio Farda. This is shameful—access to accurate, credible media is a first line of defense against regimes that”
On April 1, Frankel commented on changes to voting procedures affecting Floridians. She posted: “Millions of Floridians rely on vote-by-mail every election. The President’s executive order to limit it will make it harder for people to make their voices heard. People vote because government decisions hit home—their costs, their health care, and their children’s education.”
Frankel has served in Congress since replacing Allen West in 2013 and previously spent over a decade in the Florida House of Representatives from 1986 to 2002. Born in New York City in 1948 and now residing in West Palm Beach at age 74, she holds degrees from Boston University and Georgetown University.
