Florida Atlantic University announced on Apr. 4 the appointment of Keri Jewett-Giles as the new assistant coach for its women’s basketball program.

The addition of Jewett-Giles is seen as a significant move for the team as it enters its second year under Head Coach LeAnn Freeland. Freeland said, “We are very excited to have Keri join our program. I watched her compete at a very high level as a player at FGCU and always loved her passion for the game. She’s a proven winner at the DI and pro levels and brings a wealth of knowledge from the court and sideline. She comes highly recommended as a skill development coach, which will help us raise the bar even higher as we enter year two as a staff. Being a big name in the state of Florida, Keri also brings a strong recruiting presence with far-reaching contacts. We landed a great coach in Keri Jewett-Giles.”

Jewett-Giles most recently served as an assistant coach at Florida SouthWestern during the 2025-26 season, where she helped lead the Buccaneers to a 19-12 record and an appearance in the FCSAA quarterfinals. Her tenure included coaching several standout players who received All-FCSAA Team and All-Citrus Conference honors.

Before joining Florida SouthWestern, Jewett-Giles began her coaching career at her alma mater, FGCU, during the 2024-25 season. That year, FGCU achieved a 30-4 record—tying for sixth-most single-season wins in program history—and secured their eighth straight ASUN Tournament title along with their eleventh NCAA Tournament appearance.

As an athlete, Jewett-Giles had notable careers at both FGCU and Southern Miss, accumulating over 1,400 points across both programs and earning multiple individual accolades including ASUN Player of the Year honors in her senior season at FGCU. After college, she played professionally overseas in Belgium, Egypt, Jordan, Sweden, and Slovakia.

Jewett-Giles’s experience is expected to contribute significantly to player development and recruitment efforts for Florida Atlantic women’s basketball moving forward.
