Florida Atlantic University freshman guard Josiah Parker has been named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week for the fifth time this season, according to an announcement from the league on Monday.
Parker currently leads all players in the conference in receiving this weekly honor. During recent games against Rice and South Florida, Parker achieved two double-doubles. In the matchup at Rice, he scored a career-high 25 points—the highest by a Florida Atlantic freshman since 2019—and collected ten rebounds. He continued his performance with another double-double against South Florida, recording 13 points and 10 rebounds during his first collegiate start.
Over these two games, Parker averaged 19 points and 10 rebounds per game. In the last five contests, he has led the team in total points (86), rebounds (51), and free-throw attempts (37).
The Owls are scheduled for a six-day road trip in Texas, starting with a game against UTSA on Wednesday, February 18 at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN+. They will then face North Texas in Denton on Sunday, February 22 at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN2/U.
