The Florida Atlantic University women’s track and field team began its outdoor season on March 21 at the University of Miami, competing in the 2026 Hurricane Invitational.
The event marked the start of the Owls’ spring campaign, with athletes participating in five events: the 800-meter, 400-meter hurdles, 400-meter, 200-meter, and the 4×400-meter relay. The meet provided an early opportunity for both returning athletes and newcomers to set benchmarks for the season.
In the 400-meter race, four FAU runners competed, with Jada Bolhuis finishing fourth and recording a season-best time of 56.41 seconds. In the 800-meter event, Rosa ten Berg took first place with a time of 2:09.26, while Teegan Anderson finished second at 2:12.64. Anderson’s performance placed her tenth in program history for that event.
Freshman Joelle White made her collegiate outdoor debut by placing second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.68—her first second-place finish as a college athlete. In the 200-meter race, Bolhuis achieved a new personal best with a time of 24.95 seconds (+1.1), joined by Adriana Lopez and Richelle Williams in competition.
The Owls also participated in the concluding event of the day—the 4×400-meter relay—with White, Bolhuis, Williams, and Lopez representing FAU.
Looking ahead, select distance runners from FAU will travel to compete in the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State University on Thursday, March 26. The remaining team members will return to Coral Gables for another meet hosted by Miami on Saturday, March 28.
