Florida Atlantic women’s track and field competes at Hurricane Collegiate Invitational

The Florida Atlantic University women’s track and field team competed in the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational hosted by Miami on March 28. The Owls participated in six events during the meet, including the 1500-meter, 400-meter, 100-meter, 800-meter, 400-meter hurdles, and the 200-meter.

The invitational provided an opportunity for several athletes to showcase their abilities. Madison Brown finished fourth overall in the 1500-meter with a time of 4:47.06, marking her first appearance in this event as a member of FAU. In the sprints, Jada Bolhuis and Leanna Lynch represented FAU in the 400-meter race. Adriana Lopez and Richelle Williams ran in heats two and three of the 100-meter event.

Senior Rosa ten Berg delivered a strong performance by finishing second overall in the 800-meter with a time of 2:10.65. The team also had three athletes—Lopez, Bolhuis, and Williams—compete in the competitive field of the women’s 200-meter.

The next competition for Florida Atlantic will take place back at Coral Gables on Saturday, April 11. This will be their third and final visit to Coral Gables for this season.
