The Florida Atlantic University women’s tennis team is set to compete in two matches this weekend, facing both Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) and the University of Miami. The first match will take place at home against FGCU on Friday, February 13, at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center in Boca Raton, with play beginning at noon. The following day, the team will travel to Coral Gables for a noon match against Miami.

Last season, Florida Atlantic defeated both opponents as part of an undefeated regular season. Historically, FAU holds a 10-8 record over FGCU and has won six out of ten previous home meetings. Against Miami, the Owls have played 25 times and recorded their first victory last season.

Sophomore Lara Smejkal and freshman Alexia Patru lead the team this year, each posting a 3-1 singles record so far in 2026. In doubles play, Panna Bartha and Katrin Pavkova are unbeaten with a 4-0 record, while Malwina Rowinska and Smejkal are also undefeated at 3-0. The freshman pair of Malika Amirgaliyeva and Patru recently secured their first win together.
