Florida Atlantic women’s golf will compete in the PING/ASU Invitational beginning March 22 in Phoenix, Arizona. The tournament, hosted by Arizona State, features three days of play with one round of 18 holes scheduled each day and will conclude on Wednesday.
The event is significant as it brings together a field of 14 teams and 89 individual golfers, offering Florida Atlantic an opportunity to compete against a range of programs from across the country. The Owls have made a change to their lineup since their last outing two weeks ago in Gainesville.
Sophomore Maddie Rathjen is set to make her first team appearance of the spring season. Nancy Cox leads the lineup after competing in all six events dating back to fall, averaging a finish at 14th place. Charlotte Perkins, Tina Genoulaz, and Carolin Alblas complete the starting five for Florida Atlantic.
First round tee times (Eastern Time) are as follows: Rathjen at 10:51 a.m., Alblas at 11:00 a.m., Genoulaz at 11:09 a.m., Perkins at 11:18 a.m., and Cox at 11:27 a.m. The tournament takes place at Papago Golf Course—home course for Arizona State men’s and women’s golf—which will be played as par-72 over a distance of 6,570 yards this week.
