Florida Atlantic University’s women’s golf team finished in 13th place at the PING/ASU Invitational in Arizona, according to a March 25 announcement. The event concluded with the University of Southern California winning the team competition at 23 under par, ahead of host Arizona State by 11 shots. Davina Xanh from Cal State Fullerton earned individual medalist honors with a score of eight under par.
The result is significant as it reflects Florida Atlantic’s performance against strong national competition and provides momentum heading into their final regular season event before the American Conference Championship.
Nancy Cox was Florida Atlantic’s top performer, tying for 25th place with a two-over-par total. This marks her eighth Top-25 finish in her last nine events dating back to last season. Cox closed out the tournament with a two-over-par round of 74 on Wednesday.
Charlotte Perkins tied for 31st after carding a four-over-par total, highlighted by three birdies in her final round of 75. Other Owls contributors included Carolin Alblas (tied for 55th), Tina Genoulaz (tied for 67th), and Maddie Rathjen (87th).
Looking ahead, Florida Atlantic will participate in their final event before conference championships at the Terrapin Invitational in College Park, Maryland on April 5-6.
