Florida Atlantic University’s women’s golf team finished in 13th place at the Gators Invitational on March 8. Freshman Tina Genoulaz delivered a standout performance, shooting a career-best round of 68, which was two under par. The tournament was hosted by Florida, whose team won the event with a score of 20 under par, led by individual medalist Paula Francisco at ten under.

The result highlights the progress of Genoulaz, who climbed 30 spots on the leaderboard during the final round. She began her day on the 17th hole and quickly made birdies on three of her first four holes. Despite a setback at the third hole, she recovered to birdie both the sixth and eighth holes.

Nancy Cox also contributed to Florida Atlantic’s efforts with a solid final round score of 71. Cox finished tied for 26th place overall with a total score of seven over par, narrowly missing out on a top-25 finish.

Looking ahead, Florida Atlantic will compete next at the PING/ASU Invitational in Phoenix, Arizona from March 23 to March 25.
