The Florida Atlantic University women’s basketball team will conclude its two-game road trip with a matchup against South Florida on Saturday at 7 p.m. The game will take place at the Yuengling Center in Tampa and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Florida Atlantic enters the contest with a 12-14 overall record and is 6-8 in American Athletic Conference play, currently sitting eighth in the league standings. The Owls have won three of their last four games, securing victories over UAB, Wichita State, and Tulsa but losing to East Carolina on the road.
The team’s offense is led by Erin Rodgers, who averages 10.5 points per game. Vivian Onugha follows with 9.0 points per game, while Grace Carstensen and Destyne Jackson each contribute 8.2 points per contest. Carstensen leads the team in three-pointers made (54) and has a .409 three-point shooting percentage, which ranks second in the conference. Onugha is also the top rebounder for FAU with an average of 6.1 rebounds per game.
Defensively, Haley Walker adds 6.0 rebounds per contest, while Moors leads the team in assists (3.1 per game) and steals (1.8 per game). Madi Gewirtz is FAU’s leader in blocks with an average of one block per game.
South Florida holds a 16-11 overall record and is third in the conference at 9-5 in league play. The Bulls have also won three of their last four games but are coming off a loss to Rice earlier this week.
Edyn Battle leads South Florida offensively with an average of 14.7 points per game, followed by Katie Davidson (12.6) and L’or Mputu (10.0). Stefanie Ingram leads both her team and the conference in assists with an average of 5.7 per contest.
On defense, Carla Brito averages a team-best 9.2 rebounds per game—fourth best in the conference—while Mputu contributes 8.1 boards on average.
Historically, South Florida has dominated this series with a 12-9 all-time advantage and a strong home record against FAU at 10-2 when playing in Tampa. However, FAU won their most recent meeting earlier this season by one point.
In their last outing against East Carolina, Rodgers led FAU scorers with 16 points and recorded her first double-double of the season by adding 11 rebounds. Moors set a new career high for assists with eleven during that game.
After facing South Florida, FAU will return home to host Charlotte on Tuesday evening at Abessinio Court at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena.
