Florida Atlantic University’s women’s track and field team will begin its 2026 outdoor season by competing in the Hurricane Invitational on Saturday, March 21. The event will take place in Coral Gables, Florida, and marks the team’s first meet of the new season.
The Hurricane Invitational is an important starting point for Florida Atlantic as it sets the tone for their outdoor campaign. The Owls are scheduled to return to Coral Gables two more times during the season. Events for FAU athletes include the 1500-meter, 400-meter, 800-meter, 400-meter hurdles, 200-meter, and the 4×400-meter relay. Fans can watch live coverage of the meet on ACC Network Extra.
Other teams participating in the invitational are Florida Memorial, Manhattan College, Miami (FL), St. Thomas (FL), University of Bahamas, and Virginia Tech.
In their previous outing at the American Indoor Conference Championships in Birmingham, Alabama, Rosa ten Berg earned a silver medal in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:08.43. Teegan Anderson finished fifteenth overall out of fifty runners in the 3000-meter run with a time of 9:47.49. The FAU relay squad closed out that meet with a time of 3:50.07 in the 4×400-meter relay.
Additional performances included Anabell Reumann’s mile final time of 4:57.92 and Richelle Williams’ personal best of 7.86 seconds in the 60-meter dash. Senior Adrianna Mier set another personal best in her third indoor appearance this season with a time of 2:12.39 in the 800 meters. The distance medley relay squad also made program history by setting a new record at their second outing with a time of 11:41.67.
Looking ahead to Saturday’s competition, Florida Atlantic aims to build on its recent indoor successes as it transitions into outdoor events.
