Florida Atlantic University is highlighting its student-athletes through a new series called “Hometown Team.” The initiative aims to feature local athletes from regions spanning the Florida Keys to the Treasure Coast. One of the featured athletes is Sophia Camacho, a sophomore on the university’s softball team.
The “Hometown Team” series is presented by Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort. The university notes that under Vice President and Director of Athletics Brian White, student-athletes have contributed nearly 20,000 hours of community service.
