The Florida Atlantic University softball team will travel to Denton for a three-game series against North Texas from April 2 to April 4. The series will begin with a doubleheader on Thursday at 4 p.m. Eastern Time, followed by the final game on Friday at 6 p.m. Eastern Time, with all games broadcast on ESPN+.

This matchup is significant as Florida Atlantic enters with a five-game winning streak and aims to surpass North Texas in the American Conference standings. The Owls currently have a record of 25-11 overall and 7-5 in conference play, while the Mean Green are tied for first place in the conference with a record of 20-16 overall and 9-3 in conference.

In their previous outing, Florida Atlantic swept UTSA in three games, outscoring them by a combined score of 22-2. Junior outfielder Ciara Gibson was named American Player of the Week after collecting seven hits, two home runs, and five runs batted in over those games. Senior pitcher Autumn Courtney earned her second Pitcher of the Week award this season after allowing only two earned runs and striking out fifteen batters across three starts.

The Owls have led the American Conference this season in several categories including batting average (.315), runs scored (221), runs batted in (197), walks (133), on-base percentage (.414), earned run average (2.98), strikeouts thrown (230), and opponent batting average (.228). Nationally, they rank thirteenth in fielding percentage (.980) and thirty-second in ERA.

Head Coach Jordan Clark is now in her fourth year leading Florida Atlantic’s program with an overall record of 146 wins and 59 losses. Clark and her coaching staff received back-to-back American Conference Coaching Staff of the Year honors for both the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

North Texas is led by Cody White during his first year as head coach. The Mean Green lead the conference with fifty-nine doubles this season and are close behind Florida Atlantic with two hundred ten runs scored. Junior Madison Conley has hit ten home runs so far—the most among all players in the conference—and senior pitcher Britney Lewinski leads North Texas pitchers with ten wins.

After this series concludes, Florida Atlantic will remain on the road for another three-game set against South Florida beginning April 10.
