The Florida Atlantic softball team defeated North Texas 17-7 on April 3 at Lovelace Stadium, marking its highest run total of the season. The Owls (26-13, 8-7) secured the victory with a strong offensive showing, collecting 15 hits and eight walks.

This game is notable as it represents the most runs scored by any team during American Conference play in 2026. The win also gave Florida Atlantic its tenth run-rule victory of the season.

Junior outfielder Ciara Gibson led the offense with her sixth home run in nine games and added two doubles. Senior pitcher Autumn Courtney earned her fourteenth win of the year after pitching four innings, which is currently the most victories for any pitcher in the American Conference. “Since Gibson launched her first home run of the season on March 21, she is batting .560 with six home runs, 14 RBI and 11 runs in nine appearances,” according to team statistics.

Senior catcher Chloe Yeatts and senior first baseman Yani Guzman each contributed early RBIs to help Florida Atlantic take an initial lead. Sophomore second baseman Destiny Johns recorded a season-high three RBIs, while teammates Foran and Mora continued their consistent performances; Foran has scored a run in seven consecutive games and Mora reached base safely for a fourteenth straight outing.

The Owls will continue their road trip next week when they face South Florida in Tampa beginning Friday, April 10.
