Florida Atlantic University men’s basketball guard Josiah Parker has been named the American Conference Freshman of the Week for the sixth time this season, according to an announcement from the league on Monday. This marks Parker’s second consecutive week receiving the honor and his third award in February.
Parker, who is from Ohio, has now received twice as many Freshman of the Week awards as any other freshman in the conference. During a recent two-game road trip in Texas, he scored a total of 34 points and collected 22 rebounds. In a game against UTSA, Parker achieved his fourth consecutive double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. This performance marked his sixth career double-double, which leads both Florida Atlantic and all freshmen in the American Conference.
On Sunday against North Texas, Parker added 18 points and nine rebounds, narrowly missing another double-double. He is currently on an eight-game streak of scoring in double figures, which is the longest on his team.
For the month of February, across seven games, Parker is averaging 16.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. He also made his first three collegiate starts during this period.
The Owls are scheduled to host Temple on Thursday, February 26 for “Vice Night,” with tip-off set for 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
Florida Atlantic’s men’s basketball season for 2025-26 is sponsored by Phil Smith Kia/Phil Smith Acura.
“Josiah Parker was named the American Conference Freshman of the Week for the league-leading sixth time this season,” announced by the league.
