The Florida Atlantic University men’s basketball team will play its final two home games of the 2025-26 season this week at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena in Boca Raton. The Owls, with a current record of 15-13 overall and 7-8 in conference play, will face Temple on Thursday, February 26 at 7 p.m. (ESPN2) and Charlotte on Sunday, March 1 at 2 p.m. (ESPN+).
At home this season, FAU has a 9-4 record and has averaged 93 points per game in wins, securing victories by an average margin of nearly 24 points.
Thursday’s matchup against Temple is designated as Vice Night and sponsored by Publix. Each fan attending will receive a black vice t-shirt. Sunday’s contest against Charlotte is sponsored by ADT and marks the Varsity Owls game, where alumni will be recognized.
In their most recent games on the road in Texas, FAU defeated UTSA 60-52 but lost to North Texas in a close game, 73-72. Josiah Parker led the team during these matches, averaging 17 points and 11 rebounds. He earned his sixth American Conference Freshman of the Week honor.
Head Coach John Jakus is leading FAU for his second season. In his first year with the program in 2024-25, he was named a finalist for the Joe B. Hall Award for top first-year head coach nationally. Under Jakus’ leadership, FAU made its fourth consecutive postseason appearance with a selection to the National Invitational Tournament.
The roster features eight international players representing seven countries: United States, Canada, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Senegal, and France.
Parker has been recognized as Preseason Freshman of the Year in the American Conference and leads all conference freshmen with six weekly honors this season—twice as many as any other freshman—with three honors coming in February alone while averaging over 16 points and nine rebounds per game that month. Notably, he scored 21 points with 14 rebounds against Memphis on January 29 and posted a freshman-high of 25 points against Rice on February 11.
Redshirt sophomore guard Devin Vanterpool has received two honorable mentions from the American Conference during what is so far his best collegiate season. He leads FAU with averages of nearly 16 points per game and more than six rebounds per game; he also tops the team in steals (37) and three-pointers made (52). His rebounding numbers are among the best nationally for guards under six-foot-four inches tall.
Junior guard Kanaan Carlyle surpassed the milestone of 500 career collegiate points earlier this season against UAlbany on December 13. He is second on the team in scoring average at fourteen points per game and has made at least one three-pointer in all but two games played this year.
As a defensive unit, FAU ranks sixth nationwide for total blocks with redshirt sophomore forward Devin Williams placing second individually across Division I at nearly three blocks per game; his season tally stands at eighty blocks so far—third-most ever for an Owl—and he twice recorded seven blocks in single games this year.
Sophomore guard Isaiah Elohim leads all teammates with twenty double-digit scoring performances this season.
Temple comes into Thursday’s game led by Head Coach Adam Fisher in his third year. Senior guard Derrian Ford ranks fourth among conference scorers at almost eighteen points per contest while junior Gavin Griffiths averages two blocks per game—second only to Williams within the league. Temple also leads their conference by committing just nine turnovers per outing.
The teams last met January 18 in Philadelphia when Florida Atlantic overcame Temple thanks to Parker’s standout performance of twenty-two points and twelve rebounds en route to a seventy-nine to seventy-three victory.
Charlotte is guided by Head Coach Aaron Fearne who is now serving his second year with the program. Sophomore Ben Bradford leads Charlotte’s balanced offense at almost thirteen points each game; senior Dezayne Mingo adds over twelve points along with more than one hundred assists on the year. The bench contributes more than thirty points each night—a figure that places them among national leaders.
FAU holds an advantage over Charlotte historically after winning their last three encounters out of eighteen total meetings between both programs.
Following these home games, Florida Atlantic will finish its regular season schedule away against Wichita State on Saturday, March 7 (ESPNU).
