Florida Atlantic University announced on Mar. 16 that senior pitcher Tyler Murphy is featured in its “Hometown Team” series, which spotlights local student-athletes from the Florida Keys to the Treasure Coast.

The initiative aims to recognize the contributions of student-athletes who represent their communities both on and off the field. The university reports that during Vice President and Director of Athletics Brian White’s tenure, student-athletes have completed nearly 20,000 hours of community service.

Murphy, a senior pitcher for Florida Atlantic’s baseball team, is among those highlighted as part of this ongoing effort. The “Hometown Team” series seeks to connect fans with athletes who have roots in the surrounding region.

The series is presented by Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort. Fans are encouraged to follow @faubaseball on social media for updates about Florida Atlantic baseball and its players.

This recognition reflects Florida Atlantic’s commitment to celebrating local talent and fostering strong ties between its athletic programs and the broader community.
