Florida Atlantic University announced on March 11 that freshman softball player Ava Difato is featured in its “Hometown Team” series, which spotlights local student-athletes from the Florida Keys to the Treasure Coast.

The initiative aims to recognize and celebrate athletes who represent their communities while playing for Florida Atlantic. The university said its student-athletes have contributed nearly 20,000 hours of community service during Brian White’s tenure as Vice President and Director of Athletics.

Difato, a freshman on the softball team, is among those highlighted for her connection to the region. The “Hometown Team” series is presented by Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort.
