The Florida Atlantic University men’s basketball team ended a six-game losing streak with a 60-52 victory over the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) on Wednesday night in San Antonio. The Owls improved their record to 15-12 overall and 7-7 in conference play, while UTSA fell to 5-21 overall and 1-13 in conference.

Freshman guard Josiah Parker led the Owls with his fourth consecutive double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. This performance marked his sixth double-double of the season and fifth in the last six games. Redshirt sophomore forward Devin Williams contributed eight points, a career-high 11 rebounds, and matched his career high with seven blocks—just one short of the program’s single-game record.

During the first half, both teams struggled offensively, trading leads through 11 changes and three ties. Parker and Williams combined for 12 points and 12 rebounds before halftime. Sophomore guard Isaiah Elohim led FAU with seven first-half points. The Roadrunners took a narrow lead into halftime, up 28-26.

In the second half, Elohim scored an early three-point play to give FAU back the lead. He later hit a three-pointer alongside redshirt junior guard Niccolo Moretti to extend the advantage to seven points. Elohim finished with a strong second half, helping push the lead into double digits before UTSA closed within six late in the game.

Parker continued his recent form by averaging nearly 17 points and almost 11 rebounds over his last six games. Williams has now posted five straight games where an Owl recorded a career-best performance; he also ranks among national leaders in blocked shots per game.

Junior guard Kanaan Carlyle added balance for FAU with 12 points, six rebounds, and five assists—the most by any player in this matchup. The Owls held UTSA to just over thirty percent shooting from the field, marking a season-low for their Division I opponents. Florida Atlantic also outscored UTSA on fast breaks by ten points.

The Owls will remain in Texas for their next contest against North Texas on Sunday, February 22 at 4 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
