The Florida Atlantic Coaches Show, sponsored by Duffy’s Sports Grill, will return on Thursday, February 19. The event will take place at Duffy’s Sports Grill of Boca Raton and will be broadcast from 6 to 7 p.m. on Fox Sports 640 South Florida.
Frank Forte, host and producer of the Inside the Owls’ Burrow TV show, is set to lead the program. Scheduled guests include LeAnn Freeland, head coach of the women’s basketball team, and Alex Smolka, head coach for cross country and women’s track & field.
The women’s basketball team has recently secured three wins in its last four games against UAB, Wichita State, and Tulsa. Their next game is scheduled for Saturday, February 21 against the South Florida Bulls at the Yuengling Center in Tampa. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m., with coverage available on ESPN+.
Alex Smolka has been with Florida Atlantic University for 34 years and has served as head coach of both cross country and track & field since 2002. The indoor track and field season began with several new program records and personal bests for FAU athletes. The team will compete in the American Conference Indoor Championships in Birmingham on February 27-28 before starting their outdoor season at the University of Miami in Coral Gables on March 21.
Fans are invited to attend or listen live to the show via the Florida Atlantic Sports Network or FOX Sports 640 South Florida while enjoying dinner specials at Duffy’s.
