The Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball team, ranked No. 16 nationally, will compete in the Texas Invitational on March 27 and March 28. The event, held at ATX Beach in Austin, features matchups against four of the nation’s top ten teams.

This tournament is important for the Sandy Owls as it presents their toughest competition so far this season. Facing higher-ranked opponents offers a chance to test their skills and improve their standing.

The Sandy Owls (13-7 overall, 2-0 Conference USA) will open play on Friday against No. 3 USC at noon Eastern Time. USC leads the all-time series with nine wins and no losses over Florida Atlantic. Later that day, FAU will play No. 10 Long Beach State at 2:30 p.m., with Long Beach having won the only previous meeting between these programs last year.

On Saturday, Florida Atlantic faces No. 2 Stanford at 9:30 a.m., with both teams tied in their all-time series record at two wins each; however, Stanford has won the last two encounters. The weekend concludes with a match against top-ranked UCLA at 1:30 p.m., where UCLA holds a perfect seven-win record over FAU, including a recent victory earlier this month.

After competing in Texas, the Owls are scheduled to return home for their Capri Classic on April 10 and April 11 as part of senior weekend celebrations. Matches on Friday during that event will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
