No. 14 Florida Atlantic University’s beach volleyball team, known as the Sandy Owls, will begin its first road matches of the season at the Seminole Beach Bash in Tallahassee, Florida. The event will take place from Friday, February 27 to Saturday, February 28 at the Florida State Beach Volleyball Courts.

The Sandy Owls are scheduled to play UNC Wilmington on Friday at 11 a.m., followed by a match against No. 6 Florida State at 3 p.m. On Saturday, they will face No. 16 North Florida at 12:15 p.m., with playoff matches to follow later that day based on results.

Florida Atlantic comes into the tournament after an undefeated opening weekend at the Beach Burrow Bash, where they secured two 4-1 victories over Boise State and Palm Beach Atlantic and two close wins (3-2) against Coastal Carolina and FIU.

In their history against this weekend’s opponents, FAU holds a perfect record of 5-0 versus UNC Wilmington, including a sweep in their last meeting on March 5, 2022. However, the team has yet to secure a win against host Florida State; FSU leads their all-time series with FAU by a margin of 20-0.

Against North Florida, FAU leads the overall series with ten wins to eight losses but fell short in their most recent matchup when North Florida won 4-1 on April 19, 2024.

The final schedule for playoff matches will be determined based on results from earlier games during the weekend.
