Florida Atlantic University’s baseball team will travel to Houston for a three-game American Conference series against Rice, beginning Friday, March 27. The games are scheduled for Friday at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time, Saturday at 3 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m., with all matches available to stream on ESPN+.

The matchup is significant as both teams hold similar conference records, with Florida Atlantic at 14-11 overall and Rice at 15-11. Each team is looking to improve its standing in the American Conference after opening with one win and two losses.

In their most recent game on Tuesday, Florida Atlantic lost to Miami by a score of 10-6. Michael Perazza and Nick Romano contributed six of the team’s eleven hits during that game, while Patrick Ward hit a home run for the second consecutive match.

Several players have shown strong performances over the last ten games. Perazza has gone 13-for-31 with two home runs and seven runs batted in (RBI), Brett Patten has nine hits in twenty-three at-bats along with four stolen bases, John Martinez has thirteen hits including a home run and five RBI, while Ward has eight hits, two home runs, and eight RBI.

Rice enters the weekend after dropping two out of three games against South Florida but recently secured a midweek victory over Houston Christian by a score of 10-7. Last season, Florida Atlantic won three out of four meetings between these teams—including an elimination game during the American Conference Tournament—and currently leads the all-time series against Rice with twenty wins to seventeen losses and one tie.

Following this weekend’s series in Houston, Florida Atlantic will conclude its five-game road stretch with a trip to FIU on Tuesday.
