Florida Atlantic baseball will begin its American Conference schedule against the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) starting March 19 at FAU Baseball Stadium. The three-game series is set to start Friday at 6:35 p.m., continue Saturday at 4:05 p.m., and conclude Sunday with a noon game. All games will be available for streaming on ESPN+.
The matchup marks the start of conference play for the Owls, who currently hold a 13-8 record. The team has won 10 of its last 13 games but recently suffered a 12-4 loss to Florida Gulf Coast University. Despite that setback, Florida Atlantic has performed well when recording double-digit hits, holding a 9-2 record in such games this season.
John Martinez has been a standout performer for the Owls, achieving his second consecutive three-hit game in the recent contest against FGCU. Martinez leads the team in batting average, hits, and runs batted in, with eleven multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games so far this season. On the mound, starting pitchers James Litman, Kide Adetuyi, and Garrett Grant have combined for a 2.88 earned run average over their fourteen starts.
UTSA enters the series with a 15-6 record but has lost five of its last seven games. Earlier in the season, UTSA was ranked as high as No. 24 nationally and is coming off a strong performance last year as reigning American Conference Regular Season Champions with a league record of 23-4 in 2025.
Historically, UTSA leads the all-time series against Florida Atlantic by one game (18-17). Last year, UTSA won all four meetings between the teams, including an elimination game during the American Conference Tournament.
After this weekend’s series concludes, Florida Atlantic will travel to Coral Gables on Tuesday to continue its season series against Miami.
