Florida Atlantic University’s baseball team will play against the University of Miami in Coral Gables on March 24, with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. This is the second of three meetings between the Owls and the Hurricanes this season.

The matchup comes after Florida Atlantic went 1-2 against UTSA in its first American Conference series. The Owls lost their opener, rebounded with a win thanks to Brett Patten’s three hits and go-ahead run, but dropped the series finale despite home runs from Patrick Ward and Marshall Lipsey.

Recent performances have seen John Martinez leading the team with a .421 average over the last ten games, while Michael Perazza and Patten have also posted strong numbers. Martinez leads in hits (31) and RBI (17), Perazza holds a .366 average and shares the team lead in home runs, while Patten has nine steals just behind Lipsey’s ten.

Miami enters after sweeping Creighton over three games, scoring a total of 35 runs and securing two wins via run-rule. In their previous meeting this season on February 25, Florida Atlantic led late before Miami scored seven runs in the ninth inning for an 11-7 victory.

Following Tuesday’s game, Florida Atlantic will travel out of state for the first time this season to take on Rice University in Houston. The series opener is set for Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
