Florida Atlantic University’s baseball team will play against Florida International University in Miami on March 31, seeking to complete a four-game season sweep. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+.

This matchup holds significance as the Owls have already won the first three games of the series against FIU earlier this month. A win would mark their seventh consecutive victory over the Panthers and extend their lead in the all-time series, which currently stands at 88-56 in favor of Florida Atlantic.

The Owls enter Tuesday’s game with a record of 15-13 overall and 2-4 in American Athletic Conference play. Over the weekend, they went 1-2 against Rice, highlighted by James Litman striking out five batters over more than five innings and Zach Kilby pitching perfectly for nearly four innings to close Friday’s opener. Despite collecting eleven hits in that game, all six runs were scored without any balls leaving the infield.

Offensively, Ian Collier contributed both runs with a solo home run and a sacrifice fly during one of those contests. Eli Small hit his first collegiate home run as well but overall, hitting proved challenging for FAU during Sunday’s finale when they managed only three hits while Rice delivered several home runs early.

Recent individual performances include Michael Perazza going 15-for-34 with one home run and seven runs batted in over his last ten games; Brett Patten recording eight hits along with six stolen bases; Eli Small adding another eight hits; and Zach Kilby maintaining a low earned run average across five appearances.

FIU comes into this meeting having been swept by Liberty over the weekend. After starting their season strong at 6-1, they have since lost nineteen out of twenty-one games played.

Following Tuesday’s road contest—which concludes a stretch of five straight away from home—the Owls are set to host UAB for a three-game series beginning Thursday at FAU Baseball Stadium.
