The Florida Atlantic beach volleyball team has released its 2026 season schedule, as announced by Head Coach Steve Grotowski. The team will begin its campaign on February 20 and is set to participate in eight tournaments during the regular season.
The Sandy Owls will travel to several locations including Florida State, Coastal Carolina, North Florida, Texas, and Washington. They will also host three home tournaments—two in Boca Raton and one in Pompano Beach. Postseason play is scheduled to start with the Conference USA Championship in Youngsville, Louisiana. The team aims for a fourth national appearance at the NCAA Championship in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Coach Grotowski provided details about the opening of the season: “Florida Atlantic will kick off the 2026 season in Paradise, hosting the Beach Burrow Bash on Feb. 20-21, welcoming Coastal Carolina, Boise State, Palm Beach Atlantic, and FIU.” Following this event, FAU will travel to Tallahassee for the Seminole Beach Bash from February 27-28 where they are set to compete against UNC Wilmington, North Florida, and host Florida State.
In March, the Sandy Owls are scheduled to participate in South Carolina’s Chanticleer Challenge on March 6-7 against teams such as Tulane and Cal Poly. A home event—the Florida Atlantic Beach Invitational—is planned for March 14-15 with visiting teams including Florida State and reigning national champion TCU. The team then heads to Jacksonville for North Florida’s tournament on March 20-21 before finishing out March at the Texas Invitational.
April begins with FAU hosting the Capri Classic for senior weekend. The final regular-season matches take place at Seattle’s Alki Beach Invitational on April 17-18.
Postseason competition starts with the Conference USA Championship from April 23-25 in Youngsville and concludes with the NCAA Championship from May 1-3 in Gulf Shores.
